Epowar is currently only available on the App Store and Play Store in the UK and Ireland. We are working on rolling Epowar out internationally, so keep an eye out! Currently we may be unable to send text messages to some international numbers. If you have a UK phone number and still didn't get the message, check that the number format is correct (+44 7...). If you still face issues please contact our support team at contact@epowar.com.

Yes! Your privacy is our first priority. We do not store personal data, and everything is fully anonymised. In an emergency, we only share your information with those you have agreed to share it with. All data is stored anonymously. Any recorded evidence is moved to our secure evidence locker and emailed to you. No one will be able to access your evidence without making a case for it through us directly, not even your contacts on the app. All features that appear on your lock screen can be hidden if you don’t want the app to be noticeable.

In theory, high heart rates or POTS shouldn’t be a problem because while your heart rate may spike, your movement would still be regular. Our algorithm looks at both, heart rate and motion. However, we are planning to conduct further testing, specifically with people with different heart conditions to increase the accuracy of the algorithm. Epowar gets more accurate the more people are involved!

The app detects that you are stressed or anxious, but as long as your movement doesn’t suggest you’re being attacked it won’t cause a false alarm. If you show severe anxiety and some infrequent movement the app might be triggered and ask if your are “OK”. But it will only alert the friends on this Journey if you don’t respond, so you have full control over what is sent out!

If you press our SOS button or an attack is detected, we will start recording your microphone data and storing your location information. This is sent straight to the cloud, meaning it is accessible even if your phone or watch is lost or destroyed. Once you end your journey, we will email you this information in an Evidence Pack. Your emergency contacts can also contact us via the website to request this Pack, but we will not send this without your permission or without proof that you are unable to access it yourself.

Currently, we are available on Apple Watch and all Android smartwatches.
We’re planning on making the app compatible with more wearable devices. In the meantime, you can still take Journeys and track your friends without a smartwatch. You can use the manual SOS button to alert them in an emergency and store evidence. -
